Five Hacker Gift Ideas - Video

I recently uploaded a video with gift ideas for the hacker. While I don’t cover each item in too much detail (it is a list of items, not a full product review), it should be enough information for you to hand off to a friend or loved one if you are a hacker nerd person and no one has any idea what to get you. And they are all under $50 USD so they won’t break the bank.

These are all items I’ve either paid for or been gifted to me after I was asked what I wanted. And I did try to pick items that stand out with a bit of extra versatility - if a single item can cover two jobs instead of one, so much the better. Less items to pack in the laptop bag.

The video is here - https://youtu.be/mtojsrvypcE. And for convenience, here are the listed items.

  1. Anker PowerCore Fusion, Wall Charger and Portable Charger 5000mAh. It comes with two USB ports for charging, and you can also charge it off of a USB port as well. https://amzn.to/2UdlnPG

  2. Kingston Digital 128GB Data Traveler Micro Duo USB 3C Flash Drive. USB 3 is supported, and it has both a USB A and a USB C connector. https://amzn.to/2Pf7FrX

  3. Edimax EW-7833UAC AC1750 Dual-Band Wi-Fi USB 3.0 Adapter. It will work under Windows 10, Mac and Linux (a quick Google search will help with drivers). Both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz are supported, can talk 802.11ac with 802.11a/b/g/n implied. https://amzn.to/2PeIQfy

  4. Element14 Raspberry Pi 3 B+ Motherboard. As of this date, the latest and greatest.

  5. Anker 6ft Premium Nylon Lightning cable (2-Pack) or Anker Powerline+ Micro USB 10ft cable. https://amzn.to/2UiSphc https://amzn.to/2Phrr5X

Bonus gift! Amazon Prime for 3 months, if they already have it, it automagically becomes a gift card. https://amzn.to/2PkFFTz

I hope these make for some great gifts to give or receive (or even to treat yourself). This was what I found interesting in my laptop bag, if you have other ideas add them to the comments below.
